The piston replacement can be easily done:

By four screws simply loosen the end cap of the pump. The piston can then be withdrawn from the cylinder. A completely oil-free operation is achieved by the use of a teflon layer on the piston. This results in an excellent resistance to abrasion. In addition, it enables precise interaction of the piston movement in the cylinder. Is slowed down by the air back pressure on the piston end.
